It was in 18th-century England that the tale of Coco Jumbo’s ancestors truly began. In 1756, the Gambauds—master bakers from Lyon—landed in London with bold recipes and bigger dreams. Their name stumped locals: “Gambaud?” “Zhahn-BOH?” “Jumbo?” They laughed—and the next day opened JUMBO BAKERY in Soho. Rich with French butter and daring flavours— their cookies became legend.

As England entered the Industrial Revolution, the Jumbos adapted. They embraced new machinery to bring their cookies to every corner of Britain.
